How traders should choose rice for bulk supply
Bulk rice is not sold on a photograph. It is sold on how the grain looks in the bag, how it cooks in the buyer's kitchen, and whether the next lot matches the last one.
Start with the end market. Household retail wants a bright, fine grain and a familiar name such as Sona Masuri or Chitti Muthyalu Rice. Hotels and messes care more about cooked yield, fluff, and how the rice holds on a steam table. If you serve both, keep two SKUs rather than forcing one grain to do every job.
Ask for broken percentage, moisture, and ageing. A beautiful sample that was milled yesterday can cook sticky. A well-aged lot plates better and complains less after delivery. At Bandaru, every variety is offered under two brands so you can match the same grain to a volume price or a premium presentation.
Finally, plan around the 100-bag minimum. That quantity is sized for a serious first lift — enough to test the market, not so large that a new trader is stuck with dead stock.
